We just received an invitation for Calvin Students to consider a summer-long writing residence. Great for folks who thrive on the outdoors in Michigan. Check it out!
From Director Matthew Dykstra:
Pierce Cedar Creek Environmental Institute is pleased to announce Nature in Words, an exciting writing opportunity for undergraduate students modeled after the Institute's science research program (URGE). This new program will provide an undergraduate student, in conjunction with a faculty mentor, the opportunity to spend the summer at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, utilizing the close interaction with the natural world available here to inspire and develop their writing skills. The undergraduate fellow is eligible for a stipend, on-site housing, and partial meal support during their full-time 10-12 week experience. Faculty advisors are also eligible for a stipend that can be used for time, supplies, travel, or other project support. More information about the program is found in the application, which is available at the Nature in Words webpage on the Institute website.
I or another Institute staff member will be contacting you by phone in early January to answer any questions you may have about the program. We hope that you will share this information with students and other faculty at Calvin. We hope that you will help us to ensure this new program is a success and look forward to working with a new group of students and faculty. Please feel free to contact me at dykstram@cedarcreekinstitute.org or 269-721-4473 if you have any questions about the Nature in Words Fellowship or about the Institute.
Sincerely,
Matthew Dykstra
